I don't recommend taking the other spur uphill after the wooden staircase - views are not so great up there. Park at the Caribou Lake public water access. The Agnes Lake trailhead is five miles up the Caribou trail in Lutsen. NOT OKAY! This is a popular trail, and the small viewing area of the waterfall was crowded (a lot of cars in the parking lot). The falls are gorgeous, and continuing ahead to the overlook provides a stunning view of the fall colors and Lake Superior. I calculated 8.39 Miles and 2100 feet elevation gain.
